1. Djemaa el-Fna in Marrakesh

Our thoughts after a brief touch of Morocco: when the longing for a foreign land called, we set off. Unexpectedly deeply we breathed in the scent of green forests, bubbling streams, high mountains, original Berber villages and oriental royal cities.
Our eyes found the green heart of Morocco and the yellow seas of the desert. Our hearts met people who smiled at us — busy and friendly, but also honest and wise. After Tahir Shah's book „The Caliph's House" I dropped my prejudices of an overrun tourist country and set off on a whim.
Enjoy the wild hustle at the „square of the hanged". Although it's Marrakesh's biggest attraction, the artists, musicians and storytellers keep drawing me in for hours.
Behind the windowless walls of the old town hide magnificent courtyard houses. Mosaics, fountains, carved cedar — once homes of viziers or sultans, today charming hotels.
Experience the power of stillness and contemplative pause. The great emptiness, the clarity of the seas of sand, the overwhelming feeling of freedom.
Hike through the green heart of Morocco, which is hardly visited by tourists. Green forests, bubbling streams, crystal-clear lakes, original villages. The mountains are less alpine and easy to hike — the people incredibly friendly.
A jewel in northern Morocco. The idyllic hillside town with its blue-and-white houses radiates a particularly relaxed atmosphere.
When the poppy fields glow red, the almond trees smell sweet, and irises compete for the most beautiful blue.
Enjoy a traditional tajine and a proper tea ceremony — jokingly also called „whisky marocain".
